VAJNORY
“Pantlík” of Vajnory – local name for “parta” was worn on wedding day by bride and bridesmaides. Dominant part of “parta” were red stripes made of wool. “Parta” is made of 5cm wide satin stripe under sewn by cloth decorated with beads, mirrors and ribbons. Difference between bride and bridesmaides was a blue skirt and rosemary on top worn by bride. Most typical ancient ornaments of village were definetely birds like peakock and pelican. Depiction of grapes on painting might be explained as symbol for this region of vineyards. Women of Vajnory were real deal in folk art and this painting suppose to pay homage to them.
