DUBNICA NAD VÁHOM
Characteristic for Dubnica nad Váhom were freely dispersed motives, joined with typical acanthus leaf which created rhythmic ornamental change on gauntlets. Ornaments were of geometrical or floral shape on small space. Pastel paints are domi- nation of this artwork most of all the gold one. Piece on this artwork dates back to 1925. „Parta“ in Dubnica nad Váhom used to be worn not only by bride but also by brides- maids and not only on wedding but on every church feasts or funerals as well. Brides „Parta“ was decorated with wreath and bridesmaid has small bouquet as decor. „Parta“ was composed of 3 parts. “Partica” -headband decorated with 3 ribbons.Surroundings of ribbons was filled with beads of various colours and tiny chains. Another part was composed of two lines of embroidered red stripes decorated with metallic ribbons in many lines. In upper part of stripes was placed “harmanika”- stacked monochromatic stripe ended up in cross shape symbol. Third part was “vjenek”- wreath prepared by wrapping rosemary around ring and was given to bride by her best friend.
