LIPTOVSKÉ SLIAČE
Title “parta” in Liptovské Sliače was used for set of long sewn stripes of various colours pinned on wreath. Wreaths were made of cloth flowers of various colours, shapes and masses. Back side of wreath was composed by leaves of hard dark green paper, which were put on in row. Oldest known photos of these wreaths are from late 19. century. In that time were wreaths much smaller, simpler and less decorated. Wreaths are used also in this time as part of folk dress. Ornamental pattern of heart in backround of the painting is of widespread geometrical style and it is originating from man´s shirt. Since 12th century heart of christ was represented by heart tied in mandril, in this painting authors wanted to show hard task of bride in her new family.
