Young woman of Šumiac started to wear their “parta” since 15 years old on church feasts, bachelor´s “party” or of course as a bride. Under it used to be worn strongly tied up pigtail which served as support for wooden spike, which was base of “parta”. “Parta” was composed of wreath made of white cloth flowers, crown of spangles and beads on wire and embroidered white stripes. It differs from bridesmaid “parta” by crown which was made of boxwood. Last wedding in this “parta” was in 1970s. In the first half of 20th century was widespreading of fully ornamental motive needlework. In Šumiac were popular floral motives which authors placed on painting. Anger and accusing look on model´s face can be translated as dissagreement with her future husband. By this look one can assume if it was wedding by her will and her love or not.
