Young girls of Vyšné Ružbachy used to decorate their heads with “parta” through feasts. Used to be wide piece of cardboard sewed by small cloth with tiny colourfull glass pearls. On top of headband were placed tall pins with glass pearls. In back you were able to find a long needle strapped by red stripe on outer side falling down on shoulders. Joined by small sequin crown tied up to small wires. Back of “parta” was pinned up by 5 long colourfull stripes, which were tied up by another one stripe around loins. Geometry used on model´s face came from ancient symbol for creation, birthgiving loins given to woman by god. Primary objective of marriage was giving a birth to child and creating a family. Portrait backround is decorated by great flowers and leaves motives originated from 19. century dress.
