ŽIRANY
“Parta” of Žirany used to be worn only by bride. Bridesmaids used to have colourfull stripes tied in hair. It was heavily complex and decorated. Composed of 5 parts made of colourfull stripes, cloth and wax flowers with leaves, chiffon and glass beads. Typical colour of stripes were green and red influenced by hungarian ethnicity. Last time using this “parta” by bride were in late 1950s. Later was replaced by wreath made of cloth flowers. In these days is only used by folk group Žibrica through staging of wedding. Black cross needlework on model´s face composed of small geometrical shapes, hearts and leaves used to decorate brides gloves through wedding. Dark black colour is depicting brides sadness for her old home.
